Brazilian and South African Corona strains arrive in India

A report by the Timesofindia newspaper revealed that the Brazilian and South African Corona strain had arrived in India, after at least 4 people were tested positive for the B.1.351 variant of the virus, and one of them was positive with the Brazilian variant B.1.1.28.1

According to the report, while mutations with any virus are not uncommon, the recent trend of disturbing numbers is what makes them so frightening, analysis of cases globally has shown that newer mutations are contagious and may lead to more symptoms than we previously knew.

How do the Brazilian and South African species differ from the UK breed?

 

The British variant of the virus remains the most threatening to date, with a high rate of infection and deaths, however, the South African and Brazilian variation could be on par with the difference in the United Kingdom raising concerns.According to the reports, all three variants carry the same genetic code, i.e. E484K, which allows it to evade the body's immune defenses, which leads to infection.

Pathologists have also been able to note that both variants in question, the South African and Brazilian variants, are more contagious than previously thought.However, there is no evidence that they are capable of causing serious illness or deaths.

Are vaccines effective against them?

Predictions of rapidly spreading variants and transmissible mutations are raising concerns that the current vaccines, which are a hope for billions around the world, may not work well as newer variants are considered more transmissible, and research on the sensitivity of variants and rates of efficacy of Corona vaccines is ongoing. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also noted that the South African variant contains a specific gene sequence, which could allow it to elude the antibodies produced in the body through vaccines, indicating that vaccines may somehow be less effective than before.

Are the symptoms different?

A high transmission rate can lead to an increase in the number of cases and make all efforts to control the epidemic go to waste.Variables contain genetic codes, which means that they can be different in the way they interact with our bodies or symptoms, but since it is a relatively new development, there is not much Evidence about it at the moment.
