The CEO of the state-owned France Electricity Company (EDF) said that the European Commission does not approve the French government's plan to restructure the company and considers dividing it into a few units as the only solution.
The company operates all nuclear power plants in France.
Jean-Bernard Lev told French magazine L'Express that the European Commission does not view nuclear energy as a solution to global warming, despite the fact that it emits almost no carbon dioxide emissions.
